Release date: Aug. 9, 2005 Record Numbers Apply for Emory College Class of 2009Admissions officials for Emory College, the main undergraduate division of Emory University, had their work cut out for them this year as they faced the largest applicant pool in the school's history with 12,004 students. Among them are a record number of Hispanic, African-American, international and Georgia students. "I'm particularly pleased that as our applicant pool has grown, so has the number of students for whom Emory is top choice," says Daniel Walls, dean of admission for Emory College. "We enrolled 35 percent of the class with early decision applicants. These are students who have done their research and are sure Emory is the right choice for them."
