Crawford Long team takes part in disaster training

Dressed in blue spacesuit-like outifts, each with its own air supply, the 24-member Crawford Long Hospital decontami-nation team recently participated in a simulated disaster that included hazardous chemical contamination. Staff members from the emergency, facilities management, environmental services and public safety departments took part in 16 hours of classroom training before they conducted this decontamination drill.

Pictured here is David Rodberg of the emergency department, being treated by members of the decontamination team after a simulated hazardous chemical contamination. His contaminated clothes were removed, he was totally rinsed off, and the water was contained to be disposed of.
